Last updated: August 3, 2026

Effective date: August 3, 2026

DMT Labs protects personal information processed while using Chamel and explains what information is processed, why it is used, how long it is retained, and how data subjects may exercise their rights.

1. Purpose of this policy

This policy explains the lawful and secure processing of personal information, including the categories processed, purposes, retention periods, third-party disclosures, processing by vendors, overseas transfers, deletion, data-subject rights, automated analysis, security measures, and contact channels.

2. Service overview

Chamel provides translation, layout adjustment, and review services for editable design source files. PDF files are not accepted as source files.

Personal information and work data may be processed during account creation, guest requests, file upload, file analysis, language and glossary settings, font mapping, review selection, quoting, payment, translation, DTP, delivery, task management, order lookup, and customer support.

3. Categories of personal information

Account and social-login information may include an identity value, name or nickname, email address, profile image, registration date, account status, login records, and consent records.

Guest requests may include a name, email address, order number, consent records, order lookup records, and download records.

Uploaded files may contain file names, formats, sizes, document structure, text, images, metadata, fonts, styles, personal information contained in the file, language settings, glossary and font mappings, page counts, complexity, and work instructions.

Orders may include order and purchase numbers, source and target languages, glossary, font mapping, review level, quote, completion estimate, status, work files, results, and correction, rework, or refund requests.

Payment and transaction information may include the order number, amount, tax, payment type and status, approval time, payment-provider transaction number, cancellation and refund records, and information required for receipts or tax invoices. Full card details are handled by the payment provider and are not directly stored by the company.

Support requests may include name, email, contact details, company, inquiry type and content, order number, environment, attachments, and support history.

Automatically generated information may include IP address, access time and records, browser and operating system, device information, viewed screens, interaction records, cookies, session identifiers, error, performance and security logs, abuse-detection records, and file transfer records.

The service does not directly request sensitive information or unique identification numbers. Users must remove or mask unnecessary information before uploading files and secure the required legal authority when processing another person’s information.

4. Purposes of processing

Personal information is processed for account and order management, identity verification, file upload and analysis, quote calculation, translation, layout adjustment, review, result delivery, payment, cancellation, refunds, support, troubleshooting, security, service improvement, dispute handling, legal compliance, and separately consented marketing.

5. Source files and work data

Source files and work data are used only as needed for analysis, quoting, translation, DTP, review, and delivery. Access is limited to personnel, translators, reviewers, vendors, and collaborators who need it for the work.

Private files are not used for public portfolios, promotional material, sale to third parties, or AI-model training without separate notice and consent. Statistical or service-improvement use is performed in a form that makes individuals and customers difficult to identify.

6. Retention and use periods

Information is deleted without delay when the purpose is achieved or the retention period ends. Information that must be retained by law is stored separately from active personal information.

Member account information is retained until withdrawal. Member work files are deleted 30 days after completion notice. Guest work information and files are deleted 72 hours after completion notice. Unpaid uploads and temporary quote data are deleted 72 hours after the last use. Transaction, inquiry, security, and legally required records are retained for the periods required by applicable law or the stated operational period.

7. Provision to third parties

Personal information is not provided to third parties in principle. It may be provided with consent, when required by law or lawful authority, to prevent an urgent threat, or when necessary under a lawful enterprise contract. Recipients, purposes, categories, and retention periods are disclosed when required.

8. Processing by vendors

Chamel may entrust processing to cloud and hosting providers, social-login providers, payment providers, email providers, AI or translation providers, monitoring providers, translators, and reviewers. Contracts require purpose limitation, security measures, limits on subcontracting, supervision, and liability.

9. Overseas transfers

Personal information may be processed or stored overseas when overseas cloud, login, AI, translation, email, or analytics services are used. The recipient, country, information, purpose, method, timing, and retention period are disclosed as required by applicable law.

10. Deletion

Electronic information is deleted so it cannot be recovered or reused. Database records, paper documents, storage media, and backups are deleted or destroyed using methods appropriate to prevent recovery. Backup copies are deleted according to the backup cycle and are not used except for recovery and security response before deletion.

11. Rights and exercise

Data subjects may request access, correction, deletion, suspension of processing, withdrawal of consent, account withdrawal, work-file deletion, processing details, or an explanation or refusal of a qualifying automated decision.

Requests may be made through the account or My Page, the Chamel contact page, or info@dmtlabs.co.kr. Chamel may verify the requester and restrict requests when required for legal retention, contract performance, dispute handling, or protection of another person’s rights.

12. Automated file analysis and quotes

Automated or AI technology may check file type and size, extract text, calculate volume and pages, analyze layout, identify fonts, estimate DTP complexity and fees, and estimate completion dates. Automated results support quoting and feasibility guidance; payment or contract formation is not finalized by automation alone. Users may request explanation, review, or human intervention where applicable law permits.

13. Children under 14

Chamel does not generally target or register children under 14. Users and organizations uploading files containing a child’s information must obtain the required legal representative consent. Information collected without a lawful basis is deleted without delay.

14. Cookies and automatic collection

Cookies and session identifiers may be used for login, security, preferences, analytics, and service operation. Browser settings may restrict cookies, but some functions may not work correctly.

15. Behavioral information and advertising

With the required consent, service-use and campaign information may be used to measure performance, improve services, and provide relevant notices or advertising. Consent may be withdrawn through the provided channel or browser settings.

16. Security measures

Chamel applies access control, least-privilege permissions, authentication, encryption where appropriate, logging, backup and recovery controls, deletion controls, employee training, and incident response procedures.

17. Privacy officer and complaints

Privacy inquiries may be sent to DMT Labs Privacy Officer, info@dmtlabs.co.kr, Seoul, Republic of Korea. The company investigates complaints and takes corrective measures where necessary.

18. Remedies for privacy violations

Data subjects may contact the relevant privacy regulator, dispute-resolution body, or law-enforcement agency under applicable law.

19. Changes to this policy

Material changes are announced on the service. The updated version states its update and effective dates.
